XML Sitemap won't show at admin page

i downloaded XML Google sitemap generator. unzipped, uploaded to filezilla wp/content/pug-ins, but it wont show on inactive plug-ins.
I did the sitemap.xml.gz and the sitemap.xml pages and configured their properties to 666 after uploading to my server... in short i know the whole process..
 
I did everything twice because...

When I did it the first time, it showed on my plug-ins inactive area, i activated, then when i checked on Google webmaster tools, i got crawl errors on my sites pages... What i did was delete the plug-in at WP and the sites that makes error on Google Webmaster to start all over again.

The second time i did the process... it wont show anymore on my plugins area. I really dont know what went wrong... everything was uploaded at Filezilla ( i uploaded again overwriting the existing files) and still there.. but won't show on WP.

any advice would be appreciated, thanks.

Is this the plugin you are referring to?  Ill need to know which plugin you mean so i can test it.
